So today I knew I had to do better in terms of calories since I went to bed hungry last night after eating too many calories anyway (but not way too many at least).
I walked for 35 minutes on the treadmill at around 3.5 MPH. It's not great, but it's what I can sustain at the moment. I may try the Couch to 5K plan on the treadmill to make it more interesting. Now that we have a TV in the bedroom at least I can watch TV while walking which makes it more interesting.
I also did about 5 individual strength training exercises and the Turbo Jam 3T Turbo workout. 60 actual minutes of exercise today felt really good. If Robert was up for I'd go play some tennis this evening too but his allergies are going crazy so outside isn't a great option. Instead I will mess around with the Wii and do some little exercising there.
The food, while still not great, was much better. I'm basically working on eating what we have instead of buying new stuff, so it will be tricky to get it all just right for awhile, but I think it will be manageable.
breakfast - english muffin with margarine, 1/2 spread with peanut butter.
Coffee with powdered coffee mate and sugar x2
lunch - 1/4 cup spaghetti noodles
1 cup tomato sauce with turkey sausage
1 cup green grapes
dinner - giant salad -
4 cups of lettuce from the garden
5 ounces of leftover steak from the weekend
1/2 green bell pepper chopped
1/3 of a cucumber sliced
3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup toasted pecans
3 tablespoons homemade basil buttermilk dressing
snacks (all that working out has made me SO hungry)
1 slice homemade bread with margarine and peanut butter
1 100 calorie bag of microwave popcorn
64 ounces of water, 16 ounces of unsweetened iced tea
I feel great today though I think my arms will be a bit sore tomorrow!

The Journey Begins
In an effort to have more accountability for losing weight and what I am eating, I am going to -hopefully- journal what I am eating each day, along with any working out that goes on. Because people can actually see what I am doing, hopefully it will encourage me to make the best choices that I can.
For breakfast -
An English muffin with margarine, peanut butter on one half, jelly on the other half
small glass of orange juice
coffee with powdered coffee-mate and sugar x2
--this came out at just over 600 calories of my daily 1500 or so. I definitely need to get this reduced.
Morning workout -
15 minutes of Yoga from the Candlelight Yoga DVD, energizing routine (ok, not thrilling)
30 minutes of walking with Daisy. We went down our street, along 407, into the subdivision, all the way to the end of that street, then reversed it all back to the house. I'd say it was over a mile but not sure how much over.
Lunch -
1/2 cup lime cilantro rice
1/2 cup black beans
1 Tablespoon of Monteray Jack cheese
1 orange
8ounces of iced red roobios tea
Dinner - planned
1 cup pasta
1/2 cup pasta sauce
4 ounces turkey Italian sausage
1 slice homemade foccacia bread with 2T Parmesan cheese and 1T margarine, garlic powder
water to drink
I am going to Starbucks this evening and I may just buy a bottled water. Not my favorite choice by far, but by dinner I will already be slightly over my 1500 calories for the day (and I am aiming for 1200-1500) so I don't want to g too far over if possible. I know I will be hungry tonight since I did not get enough protein in either. The two cups of coffee AND the orange juice at breakfast really put me over the edge I think since it's a few hundred calories right there.
I am using Spark People online to log my food and workouts to keep track of calories eaten and calories burned.
I emailed Robert about it all this afternoon and told him I am drawing my line in the sand today. I hope he will be on board to do this with me.
